| David Doyle & Erika May of Steel Town Fire David Doyle, a versatile and talented performer, is sure to delight any audience with his wide array of specialized shows. A veteran entertainer, he has enchanted audiences across the East Coast for ten years with his displays of magic, fire breathing, escape artistry, stilt walking and comedy shows. As a magician, David has performed in a variety of venues, anywhere from Congressional picnics and non-profit benefits to private country club settings. In addition to his 30 minute classic magic act, David brings his art to a personal level by doing tableside magic for his viewers. Amanda Stano, Staff Educator of the Carnegie Science Center says “During the 2006 summer exhibit, Magic: The Science of Illusion, Escape Artist/Magician David Doyle performed live demonstrations on the Magic Stage. His unique brand of magic made for a mesmerizing summer at the Carnegie Science Center.” Always willing to expand the excitement and danger in his shows, David began adding feats of escapism to his shows over five years ago. Inspired by the likes of Harry Houdini, David Doyle has added amazing shows of escape artistry to his magic acts, and is well known for his “100 Foot Rope Escape” as well as escapes from shackles, straitjackets, and chains—stunts which he performs both on the ground and in the air on stilts! David Doyle constantly pushes himself to the limits, mastering ever more amazing (and dangerous!) talents. Now an accomplished fire breather , he entertained as part of the “Scarlet Scoundrels,” a professional fire breathing and Russian acrobatic troupe, at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire during the summer of 2007. Going solo, David entertained under the persona of a nine foot tall fire-breathing demon for Pittsburgh’s Club Zoo as well as the Grand Re-Opening of the Waterfront Center this fall. In addition to David’s versatile stunts, he is also a comedian, and has worked as part of the main cast at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival for 6 years as Pester the Jester. As Pester, David also performs a comedy show targeted at children, where he interacts with the youths in the audience and teaches them about the history of jesters. Lori Hughes, the director of public relations for the Pittsburgh Festival states that “Pester the Jester [is] incredibly funny and entertaining… doesn’t matter if you’re 3 or 93!” This show also recently debuted at the Wild Rose Renaissance Faire in Corry, Pennsylvania. As a comedian, he has also performed at Pitt’s Friday Night Improvs for several years. Whether you are looking for action or a few good laughs, whether you want to see amazing escapes from daring heights or comedy children’s shows, David Doyle is the versatile entertainer for any event and every audience. At the dawn of the millennium, around midnight, during a music festival in a small corner of the Berkshire Mountains, EMay watched her first poi-spinner. This girl used the "old-fashioned" gas-in-a-bucket style poi, and while she's never been seen again, EMay's fascination with the sight led her to pursue the art of poi herself. In 2009, she traveled to central America to study with Nick Woolsey of PlayPoi, and has been performing with fire since 2005. In addition to poi, EMay has studied bellydance since 2004 under Zafira Dance Company. She was led into veil and fan, which she has expanded into fire tools, including Lotus Palms and Fire Fans. She began eating fire in 2008, and hopes to incorporate Fire Sword and Hooping into her future shows. A performer on many stages, EMay is also a multi-instrumentalist. She sings and plays keyboard and accordion for Between Liberties (progressive acoustic music) and plays riq and darbuka for Kirik Hava (Turkish folk & Ottoman Art music). She plays music as a solo artist and with other experimental projects as well, and can be seen often taking in local music and touring acts. When not on stage, she is still on the scene, usually behind it, getting things done. She is a manager and booking agent for other performing artists, and can be found doing just about anything during events she is producing. She hopes to come back as a Hawk. Molly WyldFyre Since 2002 WyldFyre has been hypnotizing audiences everywhere with fire, grace and beauty. She combines tribal fusion belly dance, sensual rhythms and daring feats of skill and dexterity to create a unique show. WyldFyre incorporates many different dance style, musical genres and elaborate costuming to bring you an experience like no other! Her shows have been called sensual and hypnotic, mystifying and mysterious! Look on in wide-eyed wonder as fire is spun, thrown, flipped, and blown right in front of your eyes! She has been hailed as the Midwest’s top performer in her field with hundreds of performances every year along with workshops, classes and demonstrations. She has worked with multiple fire groups and has been a spotlight artist for many events. |
