Zhenna

Ever since I can remember, I have loved to dance.  I was always choreographing my
own videos in my bedroom and making up dances with my friends as a child.  I
never had formal dance training until high school when I audited modern dance
classes at Ball State University, and then was President and choreographer for my
high school dance club.

I have been belly dancing since January of 2007 when I first heard about Carenza’s
Caravan in Muncie, Indiana.  I am so blessed to be a part of the Belly Dance
community.  My sisters in dance are a very integral part of my life and I treasure
the hours I spend with them every week.

I have been a member of Mashallah, the student troupe for Carenza’s Caravan,
Ar-Raqis, the student troupe for Ancient Arts Dance Studio, and am now a
professional member of Tantric Trio.  My teachers have been (and still are) Carenza
bint Asya, Ja’Niesa bint Asya, and Elizabeth Wray.  Tribal fusion belly dance,
veil, and skirt dancing are my current passions.  I can’t wait to share my love of
Middle Eastern dance with you!
